Project #3

Projekt pierwszy to kolorowa ściana w kuchni, projekt drugi to stołek do pianina mojej siostry.

Poszukiwania idealnej komody/szafki i blatu do łazienki trwały wieki. W końcu stanęło na Ikei. Komoda została prawie zupełnie przerobiona w środku i zabezpieczona przed wilgocią.

Remember how I told you about three projects I'd be doing in my home? Project one was our color-blocking wall in our kitchen, project two was a piano stool for my sister. Today I'd like to show you project three, definitely the biggest one that's why it took us so long to complete it. Here's our bathroom! Project by Ola, realization Marek, we're a power couple!

The bathroom from the very beggining was supposed to be different, non-standard. Tiles only where necessary, and on top of that from totally different manufacturers. Basically, I wanted it to be modern and airy.

I was looking for a perfect bathroom cabinet and countertop like forever. We ended up with Ikea. The drawers (that's what it is) has been totally rebuilt inside and damp-proof. When it comes to the countertop, we even chose an artificial one (Corian), but the price was way to high. Paradoxically, natural stone was cheaper, which I found very exciting. I love Carrara Bianco marble! Natural stone makes an impression.

Another dream of mine was a freestanding modern bath. This one is just stunning, each bath in it feels like a spa visit ;) It's movable so I can clean the floor behind it! The stool (Tine K Home) serves as a table for a magazine, a glass or towel, and as a seat. The basket above is from Bloomingville.

Podłoga to hiszpańskie płytki kupione w internecie (można zamówić darmowe próbki zanim złożysz finalne zamówienie). Wszystko odbyło się bez problemu. Płytki są świetne, robią wrażenie i świetnie kontrastują z bielą ścian i dodatków.

I always knew I'd have the white metro-style tiles on the walls (laying them and grouting was quite a challenge!). The floor tiles are Spanish, bought on the Internet (you can order free samples before you place your final order), we had no problems with that. The tiles are great, they make the WOW effect and make a contrast with the white color surrounding them.

A huge mirror was also my dream. Every morning I feel like in my private wellness zone. It's the bathroom of my dreams. Writing about it I cannot miss out on Marek who did everything by himself (with tiling and getting the fixtures ready!). He put a lot of effort in it and I see how satisfied he is now. And me, I got another project done!
